Soulful folk-rock act Muddy Magnolias is normally a collaboration between Brooklyn indigenous Jessy Wilson and Texas-born Kallie North. Both singer/songwriters came jointly relatively serendipitously in 2014, when Wilson was going to Nashville with her coach, R&B vocalist John Star. While demoing some brand-new songs on the BMI workplace, she was attracted to a framed image of the battle-scarred juke joint piano that were used by North. Both were eventually presented and quickly struck up a musical relationship that melded Southern nation and blues grit with a far more urban rock design. They released their debut one, “American Female,” in 2015, adopted a year later on by their 1st full-length, Broken People.
