An indie folk outfit having a soulful rock and roll bent, Mt. Pleasure started as the task of Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper, a set of high-school close friends from Philadelphia. The duo experienced a brief history of playing music collectively in their more youthful days, but existence and circumstances drawn them apart for quite some time. Reconvening in LA in 2016, they documented four tunes with maker Caleb Nelson using the name Mt. Pleasure. Released on-line with small fanfare, among their tunes, “Astrovan,” started to pick up vapor digitally, ultimately logging over three hundreds of thousands channels. Buoyed by their achievement, Quinn and Cooper made a decision to stop their day careers and enlist a complete band to check their concert events. Released in early 2017, their two follow-up singles, “Sheep” and “Cardinal,” fared likewise well as Mt. Joy’s status grew.
