United kingdom acoustic bluesman Mr. David Viner was uncovered with the Von Bondies when he done their U.K. tour using the Kills. Originally employed to market the Von Bondies’ products, Viner started playing his tracks for the group people, who were therefore impressed that that they had him play starting sets for the next fifty percent of the tour. The same thing occurred when he marketed merchandise for the Soledad Brothers’ U.K. tour — on the next fifty percent of the tour, he performed second guitar together. The Von Bondies’ Jason Stollsteimer agreed upon Viner to his label, Within the Work, and brought him to Detroit to record his self-titled debut record. Alongside Stollsteimer, the Von Bondies’ Carrie Smith and people from the Kills, Soledad Brothers, and Pearlene helped in documenting Mr. David Viner, that was co-released by Dim Mak and In the Work in summertime 2003.
