The Finnish jazz quartet MP4 followed their award-winning live debut in 2002 with some studio albums you start with Central Playa (2004). Founded in 2002, MP4 are made up of Mikko Pettinen (trumpet, flügelhorn, vocals), Ville Huolman (acoustic bass), Toni Porthén (drums), and Tuomo Prättälä (Rhodes piano, synthesizer, vocals). The quartet produced its live debut in the Getxo Jazz Group Competition in Spain in July 2002, earning both jury and viewers awards for Greatest Group and Greatest Soloist (i.e., Pettinen). This award-winning debut live show was later on released as Jazz Getxo in 2003 by Hilargi Information. MP4’s studio recording debut, Central Playa, adopted a year later on. A second studio room album, Follower, premiered in 2007.
