Mouserocket

Mouserocket will be the latest group work featuring Big Ass Vehicle guitarist Robby Offer. The group is certainly self-described “cello-pop with face-melter sound interludes.” With clever, moody electric guitar riffs, frequently eerie vocals, and a distinctive mixture of distorted guitars and traditional cello, Mouserocket are certainly original — unique however available. The quintet features Memphis music powerhouse Alicja Trout (the Shed Sounds, River Town Tanlines, and so many more) on electric guitar and part-time vocals, Hemant Gupta on bass, drummer Robert Barnett (also of Big Ass Vehicle), and cellist Jonathan Kirkscey (Memphis Symphony Orchestra). The group released a three-song 7″ on Wrecked ‘Em Wreckords and a full-length self-titled record in 2004. Another LP is expected for discharge in early 2007.
