Originally the solo project of singer/songwriter Kristine Leschper, Mothers embrace a romantic, atmospheric design of folk-influenced indie rock. Growing in Athens, Georgia in 2013 while Leschper was learning printmaking in the city’s Lamar Dodd College of Artwork, the singer’s susceptible, Angel Olsen-reminiscent delivery quickly obtained attention at regional shows. Guitarist Drew Kirby, bassist Patrick Morales, and drummer Matthew Anderegg had been eventually absorbed in to the recognized lineup. After touring to get fellow Athenians Of Montreal, the band’s brittle, melancholy debut LP, When You Walk an extended Range You Are Tired, showed up on Grand Jury and Wichita Recordings in early 2016. Made by Drew Vandenberg (Common Stress, Futurebirds), the recording featured guest places by Josh McKay of Deerhunter and McKendrick Bearden of Grand Vapids.
