Mother Superia

b. Miami, Florida, USA. A formidable feminine rapper in the vein of MC Lyte, this refreshingly principled hip-hop musician spent some nine years in the wilderness prior to the discharge of her debut record in 1997. Motivated with the old-skool rapping of KRS-One, Melle Mel and Eric B. And Rakim, she agreed upon with Island Information subsidiary 4th & Broadway due to the label’s widely-acknowledged background with a few of rap music’s pioneering pushes. Her hardcore lyrics, on the other hand, carrying hardcore cultural text messages through metaphor, had been widely in comparison to those of Queen Latifah. She found the interest of 4th & Broadway through the independently-released regional hit, ‘Rock and roll Bottom’. The largest rap tune to result from Miami since 2 Live Staff had been at their peak, it resulted in hip-hop writers discussing the town itself as ‘The Bottom level’ in rap parlance. Superia remained accurate to her regional heritage by using an all-Miami creation team to focus on her debut record, Levitation.
