Mother Maybelle Carter

Affectionately and also reverently referred to as “Mother” Maybelle, Maybelle Carter was one-third of country music’s original first family members, the Carters. Given birth to Maybelle Addington in-may of 1909, she was related by relationship to some.P. and Sara Carter — she wedded A.P.’s sibling Ezra.
