Originally conceived simply by Billy Méndez and Rodrigo Dávila in 2002, Mexico’s Motel needed to endure the most common touring of bars and lineup changes just before drummer Pepe Damián and bassist Rubén Bridge solidified the band. Demos delivered to Warner Bros. Mexico got them a offer, and in 2006 the infectious solitary “Dime Ven” released their alternate rock-flavored, self-titled debut recording. “Dime Ven” continued to earn article writer Dávila a 2006 Latin Grammy nomination for Greatest Rock Song, as the whole music group was honored when its debut was nominated for Greatest Rock Album with a Duo or Group with Vocal.
