Going for a cue from like-minded Canadian force pop confectioners like Sloan, New Pornographers, and Super Friendz, aswell as cult heroes just like the Soft Boys and Big Star, Nova Scotian indie rock and roll quartet Monomyth build hook-laden, psych-tinged slabs of jangle pop/heartland rock and roll goodness. Produced in Halifax throughout the abilities of guitarist/vocalists Seamus Dalton and Josh Salter, bassist Graeme Stewart, and drummer Matt Peters, Monomyth released a small number of singles before inking a cope with Vancouver-based Mint Information, who would continue to concern the band’s debut long-player, Saturnalia Regalia!, in 2014. Following the album’s discharge the quartet held a minimal profile before reappearing in past due 2016 using their second record, the greater musically varied Happy Pop Family members.
