MonkeyJunk

Canadian swamp blues and root base rock-band MonkeyJunk shaped in 2008 in Ottawa, Ontario. From the gate, they boasted a somewhat uncommon set-up with vocalist and harmonica participant Steve Marriner manning the baritone electric guitar, as opposed to the even more usual bass. Along with business lead guitarist Tony D and drummer Matt Sobb, the trio addresses a range of roots-oriented designs using their gritty and muscular undertake blues developing the center of their audio. Having already set up themselves being a touring action, they agreed upon with Stony Ordinary Information, who released their 2009 debut Tiger INSIDE YOUR Container. Their follow-up, To Behold, found its way to 2011 that they gained the JUNO prize for Greatest Blues Record. On 2013’s All Frequencies, MonkeyJunk begun to expand their audio further to add elements of spirit, funk, and Appalachian. The band’s 4th record, 2015’s Moon Convert Red, was made by Blue Rodeo’s Colin Cripps and includes a visitor place by acclaimed Canadian guitarist David Wilcox.
