Mon Laferte

Chilean singer/songwriter and actress Mon Laferte blends rock, blues, pop, bolero, and digital elements in her music. Delivered Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte in Viña del Mar, she started playing electric guitar at age group ten, moved into a musical conservatory at age group 13, and afterwards performed gigs in Valparaiso. She released her initial record, 2003’s La Chica de Rojo, beneath the name Monserrat Bustamante. During this time period, she also made an appearance on the tv screen series Rojo Fama Contrafama and Un Baile en TVN as well as the 2006 film Rojo, la Pelicula. She started executing as Mon Laferte after shifting to Mexico Town in 2007, and after fighting thyroid cancer in ’09 2009, released the record Desechable 2 yrs afterwards. In 2012, she made an appearance being a judge and coach on the next season of Aspect X, the Chilean edition from the X Aspect. She also became a member of the hard-rocking group Mystica Women for 2012’s MetalRose and 2014’s Gates of Hell. Amidst this activity, Laferte continuing her solo profession, issuing 2013’s Tornasol and 2015’s Mon Laferte, Vol. 1. On 2017’s La Trenza, she collaborated with Enrique Bunbury, Juanes, and Manuel Garcia.
