Molasses Creek comes from the Outer Banking institutions of NEW YORK in the picturesque isle of Ocracoke. The foundation from the band’s name is easy to get a visitor to Ocracoke Isle to discern: Molasses Creek may be the name of a little brook that operates across the isle. The band is certainly made up of guitarist/vocalist Gary Mitchell, bass participant/vocalist Kitty Mitchell, and vocalist/fiddler David Streicher Tweedie, better referred to as “Fiddler Dave.” You start with their 1993 self-released record Ocracoke Isle, Molasses Creek provides displayed their brand close harmonies, great songwriting, and ever-present love of life. 1994’s Ocracoke Isle II continuing in the same great vein.
