Modeselektor

Irreverent Berlin-based techno cut-ups Modeselektor — producers Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary — were referred to as Fundamental Knowledge using their 1992 formation until 1996, once the switch of name was made. They linked to Ellen Allien’s BPitch Control label and initiated some 12″ produces in 2002, which culminated in 2005’s full-length Hello Mother! As their presence improved with each launch and live show, they started to undertake a heavier weight of remix function, including mixes for a number of labelmates (Allien, Smash Television, TimTim, Paul Kalkbrenner) in addition to Miss Kittin, Knifehandchop, My Automatic robot Friend, and Ninjaman. Second recording Happy Birthday! premiered in 2007, offering guest places from Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Maximumïmo Recreation area, and Tempo & Audio collaborator Paul St. Hilaire. A contribution to Bpitch Control’s Boogybytes group of blend albums preceded the recording by a couple of months. In 2011, they released the fearless Monkeytown on the label of the same name. The recording included looks from Yorke, Otto Vehicle Schirach, and Sascha Band (aka Apparat).
