Modern Hicks

Vocalist Gina Blaber, Kevin Russell (who takes on acoustic guitar, mandolin and five-string banjo), mandolin and guitarist Layne Bowen, bassist Tom Sours, and dobro participant Craig Anderson (who also provides hand about banjo) constitute the Sonoma County-based modern bluegrass band Contemporary Hicks. Drawing motivation from music artists as varied as Expenses Monroe as well as the Beatles, the present day Hicks’ crisp audio is featured on the debut documenting from Jackalope Information, Out One of the Stars, that was released in 1999.
