Miwagemini

Miwa Gemini (also called Miwagemini), an designer whose twangy, moody compositions put her in the same music territory as My Brightest Gemstone and St. Vincent, started performing in NEW YORK in the first 2000s. It wasn’t a long time before Gemini’s music generated a substantial amount of hype; within a couple of years of her first gig, Gemini made an appearance on NPR’s All Tunes Regarded as and snagged the Sky Harvest Award at Toronto Indie Week. She released her debut, 2004’s Forgetful Sea and Other Unusual Stories, just as Miwa; it showed up via the Canadian imprint Butterflymask Information. Her first recording as Miwagemini, THIS IS ONE WAY I CAME ACROSS You, premiered on Rock Recreation area Information in the springtime of 2008. 3 years afterwards she came back with an idea record about her imaginary friend, THE GREAT Lays of Grizzly Rose.
