Mississippi Hot Footers

A loose confederation of music artists through the hill nation of central Mississippi, the Mississippi Hot Footers were basically the same players who performed as the Mississippi Sheiks. Having a floating lineup of Charlie McCoy, Walter Vinson (or Vincson or Vincent, with regards to the documenting), and brothers Sam and Lonnie Chatmon (Lonnie was also called Bo Chatmon or Bo Carter, with regards to the documenting, while the family members name was sometimes spelled as Chatman), the Sizzling Footers/Sheiks were an exceptionally versatile dark string music group who made an appearance on countless recordings under different names and in a variety of configurations in the middle- to past due ’30s.
