Miss Prissy

Although tours with Snoop Dogg, the overall game, and Madonna didn’t come until after her appearance in the 2005 film Rize, which chronicled the lives and competitions of a few of South Central Los Angeles’ top krump dancers, Miss Prissy (called “the Queen of Krump” in the film), created Marquisa Gardner, had been a well-respected dancer and teacher in her own neighborhood before Rize was ever shown. Classically qualified, Miss Prissy began lessons at age group four, learning from ballet to jazz to faucet. She found out hip-hop dance at 13 and liked its expressiveness, but didn’t actually begin to consider her art significantly until after senior high school, when she started teaching it to children. It had been at among these lessons a college student released her to krump, the brand new type of dance that was getting well-known in L.A., and brought her to a program. Miss Prissy was struck by its crazy energy, and quickly joined in within the shows and contests herself, her organic talent and creativeness making her among its celebrities. In 2006, attempting to pursue her personal musical profession, Miss Prissy dropped Madonna’s offer to keep dance in her tour and authorized with Forster Brothers Entertainment and started recording material on her behalf debut album, IN MY Lane.
