Miss Derringer

Carrying out a dark, low fat mixture of blues and country seems fortified having a punk attitude, Miss Derringer can be an L.A.-centered rock-band let by way of a couple of musicians-turned-artists, Liz McGrath (a painter and sculptor who previously sang using the band Tongue and edited the ‘zine Censor This) and Morgan Slade (a photographer who plays guitar and writes a lot of the group’s materials). Rounding out the group are guitarist Tag Miller (previously of Los Cincos), bassist Sylvain de Muizon, Julio Bell (ex-Bobsled and Bulimia Banquet) on autoharp, and drummer Tag Miller (from Skeetertruck). The group released their 1st album, King Wayne, Crown Royal along with a Colt 45, in Feb 2004; properly, the record-release party happened in the Copro Nason Gallery in Culver Town, CA, together with a display of McGrath’s artwork. The music group underwent some lineup adjustments for 2006’s Lullabies, which presented the primary duo of McGrath and Slade and bassist Sylvain de Muizon, in addition to Blondie drummer Clem Burke and Charley Equine member/Acetate Information owner Rick Ballard on acoustic guitar.
