Misery Index

A death metal music group from Baltimore, MD, Misery Index was founded in 2001 by vocalist and bassist Jason Netherton, drummer Kevin Talley (both former associates of Dying Fetus), and guitarist Mike Harrison (ex-Pessimist). They announced their entrance that same calendar year using a self-released EP entitled Overthrow and another disgruntled Dying Fetus alum, guitarist Sparky Voyles, would sign up for the group with time for the 2002 split discharge with Commit Suicide. Voyles was shortly managing all six-string responsibilities, because of Harrison’s departure, though, and drummer Talley also quit at the moment to focus on various other projects, eventually starting up with nu-metal upstarts Chimaira, and afterwards the Crimson Chord. He was changed by Matt Byers (ex-Severed Mind) before Misery Index’s following split Compact disc (with Framework of Lays) in 2003, which, subsequently, was accompanied by their 1st U.S. tour. The publicity that helped provide Misery Index to the eye of Nuclear Blast Information, for whom they released their full-length debut, Retaliate, later on the same yr (and who unceremoniously drop them just a short while later on, when its product sales fell lacking objectives). Misery Index proceeded to go underground for a couple years and experienced even more staff turnover, but a fresh lineup comprising Netherton, Voyles, second guitarist Tag Kloeppel, and drummer Adam Jarvis was ultimately found by Relapse Information, and documented a sophomore opus, entitled Discordia, in 2006.
