Mirror of Deception

German traditional doom clothing Reflection of Deception were shaped in 1990 but had to fight for nearly ten years, performing small-time displays and releasing a small number of demos, before escaping utter obscurity using their self-released 1997 EP, Veil of Business lead. This finally helped drum up some curiosity for the group, that was comprised, at that time, of vocalist Markus Baumhauer, guitarists Michael Siffermann and Jochen Fopp, bassist Klaus Schmidt, and drummer Gunnar Drescher, and authorized using the Miskatonic label for the discharge of its debut full-length, Mirrorsoil, in 2001. Reflection of Deception after that embarked on trips of European countries and Britain with rings like Solstice and Caution, but vocalist Baumhauer made a decision to keep the music group in 2002, handing the reins to guitarist Siffermann, who stepped up for the very first time on 2003’s Transformation EP and hasn’t stepped down since. Staff issues continuing to doggie the group, nevertheless, and a fresh rhythm section offering bassist Andreas Taller and drummer Jochen Müller was set up for 2004’s sophomore full-length, Foregone. Right now, it appeared as though Reflection of Deception’s effective but instead predictable make of doom just wasn’t with the capacity of acquiring their profession beyond underground thresholds, and that is certainly been verified by 2006’s broadly ignored Shards recording and subsequent break up EPs with Tefra (2008) and Backyard of Worm (2009).
