Minibar

While Minibar originates from the U.K., the quartet takes on a make of cosmopolitan origins rock (observe Wallflowers and Keeping track of Crows) that’s distinctly American. Properly, the group relocated to California in 1999. In 1994, Simon Petty created the group that could become Minibar like a trio that peddled cover music (from “American Pie” to the complete of Dylan’s Bloodstream on the Songs) inside a Soho, London, Tex-Mex cafe. The very first current member added was guitarist Tim Walker in 1995. Bassist Sid Jordan arrived up to speed in 1996, while drummer Malcolm Mix became a member of in 1998. Minibar’s debut, Street Movies, made by T-Bone Burnett, premiered on Common Information in 2001. The 11-track LP features the hook-ridden, poppy songcraft of primary writer and vocalist Petty covered in easy three-part harmonies and Americana substance.
