Experimental digital artist John Mingsley started recording beneath the name Ming Ming in his family computer as an adolescent, reworking the cello compositions he played out in his junior-high orchestra into digital songs. He transferred from Virginia to Boston, Massachusetts in 2007 to wait Berklee University of Music. Mingsley’s interest considered film and he used in the Massachusetts University of Artwork, but he continuing to record, using lately learned approaches for splicing film to chop up reel-to-reel tapes of his music. In this era, he began creating abstract items, using drum devices, synthesizers, and analog documenting techniques. In ’09 2009 he performed his first display at Boston’s Weirdstock event, and Ming Ming’s demonstration made its method in to the hands of individuals at Lefse imprint Waaga Information. Lefse continued release a Ming Ming’s debut record, Ultrameta Fine, in 2011.
