Milton Wright

The brother of soul singer Betty Wright (of “Clean-Up Female” fame), Milton Wright produced some underappreciated records for the disco-oriented Miami label TK (specifically its Alston subsidiary). Mixing smooth, wealthy vocals with disco-tinged funk and a solid electronic taste (often thanks to Moog synthesizers), Wright released his debut recording Close friends & Buddies in 1975. His solitary “KEEP WRITING” became a cult traditional among funk and disco enthusiasts, and he adopted it with another LP, Spaced, and he faded from look at.
