He still left high school twelve months before graduation and started working in a number of short-term careers through the 1910s: intermission pianist in a cinema in NY, track plugger in Chicago, accompanist for vaudeville performers on the tour from the Orpheum circuit, just work at a publisher back New York, along with a post within the Morale Department for the U.S. Military at Fort Greenleaf in Georgia. By 1921, Ager published his 1st big strike, “I’m Nobody’s Baby.” Twelve months later on, he and Jack port Yellen opened their very own posting house. The business gained many strikes through the ’20s, including “Lovin’ Sam,” “Hard-Hearted Hannah,” “I Wonder What’s Become of Sally,” and, in 1929, “Ain’t She Nice?” Ager and Yellen relocated to Hollywood by the finish of the 10 years, and instantly cashed in making use of their music to 1930’s Ruler of Jazz. Starring Paul Whiteman, the film launched “Happy Ft,” “Content Days Are Right here Once again” (a long term anthem for the Democratic Party), and “A Bench within the Recreation area.” Elected towards the Songwriters Hall of Popularity, Ager passed away in 1979.
