Wilhelm was a significant person in two SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Area groupings, in two different years. In the 1960s, he was a guitarist and songwriter for the Charlatans, frequently identified as among the very first SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA psychedelic groupings, although these were even more appropriately referred to as mixers of blues, folk, jugband, and nineteenth hundred years saloon music. In the past due 1970s, he became a member of the Flamin’ Groovies on electric guitar for some time.
