Mike Shupp

A singer/songwriter influenced with the jangly pop from the 80’s Athens picture, Mike Shupp writes heartland pop with crunching guitars along with a sugary lovely tone of voice. A Virginia local, Shupp first used Bang Theory in the first 90’s, however when the music group dropped apart he discovered himself struggling to maintain another outfit collectively. Undaunted, he basically went solo, liberating October Sunlight in 1997 and garnering raves from Spin Journal among other resources. Over time of live shows, Shupp stepped in to the studio room with maker Jeff Murphy in 2000 for THE MAIN ELEMENT. Documented in Chicago, the recording was completely performed by Shupp beyond the percussion. Striking the street after favorable regional reviews, Shupp got less amount of time in between albums and came back in the springtime of 2002 to record THIS TIME AROUND. The record, combined by Indigo Women maker Don McCollister, found its way to Sept of the same yr.
