Mike Fahn

An excellent bop soloist around the valve trombone, Mike Fahn is definitely prepared to jam or even to add his horn to any swinging scenario. His dad was a drummer who experienced used Lionel Hampton, and youthful Mike began like a drummer, as well. He soon turned to trumpet and baritone horn before learning to be a valve trombonist when he was 12. Inside a few years his family members relocated to the Orange Region area near LA. In 1979 he began seated in with pianist Frank Strazzeri and started freelancing. Fahn performed with Shorty Rogers, Expenses Holman, and Don Menza and experienced opportunities to sit down along with Freddie Hubbard, Chet Baker, and Wynton Marsalis. He toured with Maynard Ferguson’s Big Bop Nouveau in the past due ’80s and finally moved back again to NY. Mike Fahn offers documented with Ferguson, Bob Cooper, Dick Berk, Kim Richmond, Matt Catingub, and Frank Strazzeri, amongst others, alongside leading a set of his own times, 1989’s Steppin’ Out for Cexton and 2002’s Close Your Eye…and Listen for Sparky 1 Productions.
