Mighty Mo Rodgers

Mighty Mo Rodgers (actual name Maurice Rodgers) was created in Indiana where his father possessed a club that presented blues performers. When Rodgers wasn’t learning traditional piano he was looking into the blues performers that performed there. We were young, Rodgers was deeply suffering from the mid-’60s spirit music from your Memphis-based Stax label. Using Stax as an impact, Rodgers began his first music group while in senior high school known as the Rocketeers. Upon getting into Indiana State University, Rodgers fronted another music group, the Maurice Rodgers Combo, playing Wurlitzer piano and incorporating originals with cover variations of popular tunes from the period. He finally made a decision to stop college, proceed to L.A., and present music his full-time interest. There he performed gigs and documented numerous blues and R&B legends; his body organ can be noticed on Brenton Wood’s 1967 strike Gimme Small Sign. Through the entire years Rodgers hasn’t limited himself to executing. In 1973 he created the record Sonny and Terry on A&M information for Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. After developing tired of tiresome session function, he continued to create music and became a residence songwriter for Motown and Chappel Posting. Rodgers also continuing to produce periods for other performers and went back to college where he received a qualification in idea. In 1999 he released his initial solo work, Blues Is certainly My Wailin’ Wall structure, on Blue Thumb. The documenting contained all first material, mixing up his philosophical sights with blues/spirit musical roots.
