In the forefront of Italian instrumental music, Mascitti was considered much like Corelli and Albinoni. He was trained by his uncle Pietro Marchitelli a violinist. Notably, most of Mascitti’s compositions had been obtained for strings. He could find his lot of money beyond Italy traveling throughout his indigenous nation, Germany and holland ultimately settling in Paris in 1704. Through a gathering using the Duke of Orleans he was afforded the chance to play prior to the ruler and the complete court. Immensely popular amonst the French general public, known familiarly by his first name, he offered both Duke of Orleans and was also patronized by the home of Crozat. The principal genre of his compositions was the solo sonata but he also organized trio sonatas and concertos. Mascitti’s had been the 1st string concertos released in France with a resident composer.
