Michaela Harel

Michaela Harel is a fresh York City-based pianist and instructor. The little girl of Laura Harel, a French instructor, and the past due Dr. Aron Harel, a psychiatrist, she was created in Tel Aviv, but spent a great deal of her youth in NY. As a kid, she was highlighted within a documentary entitled The Piano Goes, which depicted the transportation of the piano from a flat over the 12th flooring of the building. Harel examined at Juilliard and in addition do a stint being a dancer at the institution of American Ballet, and the brand new York Town Ballet under George Balanchine. She examined at Yale School and gained her master’s level from USC. Harel’s repertory runs in the Baroque towards the past due Romantic and contemporary eras, including Bach, Scriabin, Shostakovich, Ravel, Elgar, and Schumann. Her debut single recital on the Weill Recital Hall in NY, the program which included the Haydn Sonata in G minimal, Hob. XVI/ 44; Brahms’ Klavierstucke, Op. 119; Schumann’s Sonata No. 2; the Shostakovich Preludes and Fugues No. 7 no. 24; and Ravel’s Sonatine, was praised by Allan Kozinn of THE BRAND NEW York Situations as “stunning on several matters, included in this the pianist’s impeccable feeling of style as well as the specialized and interpretive control she exerted within the six functions she performed.” Harel provides given many recital since and documented a set of CDs.
