Michael Mangia

Pianist and vocalist/songwriter Michael Mangia (pronounced “Manja”) discovered the piano in age 8. Honing his abilities during his teenage years led him to Nashville at age 18 to record an EP with maker Johnny Pierce. By this time around, Mangia had dedicated himself to some existence of music, and started appearing regularly round the LA open-mike and coffeehouse picture, eventually liberating a full-length debut, Utopia, in 2000. The Invisible Wall structure, a self-produced assortment of tunes that drew on the bevy of affects including Spiritualized, Tori Amos, and Sigur Rós, premiered in 2004.
