Michael Kindred

Tx blues pianist Mike Kindred has already established a long profession playing with a number of the main numbers in blues and rock and roll from his indigenous state. He got traditional piano lessons as a kid while also developing a pastime in jazz and blues. In his teenagers, he founded a rock-band known as Krackerjack with Tommy Shannon and Uncle John Turner. Among the guitarists who handed through the music group in Austin was Stevie Ray Vaughan. During this time period, Kindred and W.C. Clark co-wrote the music “Cool Shot,” which Vaughan documented on his second recording, Couldn’t Stand the elements, in 1984 and performed often thereafter. The melody went on to become blues-rock regular, also documented by Pat Travers, Dr. John, and Steve Stevens, amongst others. Kindred, on the other hand, was an associate of the rock-band the Werewolves, showing up on the self-titled debut record in 1978, after that became an in-demand program musician and touring bandmember, associated such performers as Joe Ely, Lou Ann Barton, Adam Cotton, Gatemouth Dark brown, and Delbert McClinton in the 1980s and ’90s. Ultimately, he produced another music group, Shakedown, and in addition made an appearance in duos. In 2003, he documented Handstand, his debut record for Loudhouse Information, playing piano and performing with drummer Dexter Walker associated him. It had been released in Feb 2004.
