Michael Henderson

Vocalist/bassist Michael Henderson offers enjoyed successful professions as a new player and performer. He shifted from Yazoo Town, Mississippi to Detroit in the first ’60s, and was a program player. Like a 13-year-old, Henderson performed bass with the great Four, Detroit Emeralds, Billy Preston, and additional Motown works in 1964 and 1965. He later on toured with Stevie Question and Aretha Franklin before becoming a member of Kilometers Davis. Henderson performed and toured with Davis for seven years. When he fulfilled drummer/maker Norman Connors, Henderson pitched him some tunes. Connors documented “Valentine Like” on his Sunday Night Unique LP, offering Henderson with Jean Carne. This is his vocal debut, and it reached nubmer ten around the R&B graph. Henderson published two other strikes for the LP, “BOTH OF US Need ONE ANOTHER” and “You Are My Starship,” which peaked at number 4. Those successes got Henderson his personal Buddah offer in 1976, and in 1978 he got his 1st Top 10 R&B strike with “Consider Me I’m Yours” for Buddah. Henderson documented for Buddah from 1976 to 1983, generating his biggest strike in 1980 with “Wide Recipient,” lots four strike. He relocated to EMI in 1986. Henderson also documented “Can’t We Fall in Like Once again” with Phyllis Hyman on her behalf personal LP, and sang with Bobby Womack and Johnnie Taylor, aswell as generating the Dramatics. He also helped discover Cherrelle, who was simply his nearby neighbor in the past due ’70s. She sang history and toured with him for four years.
