Michael Hashim Quartet

b. 9 Apr 1956, Geneva, NY, USA. While participating in college at Geneva in upstate NY, Hashim joined the institution music group programme. His initial options, drums and trombone, had been eliminated and he resolved rather on alto saxophone. His fascination with music have been sparked when he fulfilled a fellow pupil, bass participant Phil Flanigan, whose dad had a thorough jazz record collection. They paid attention to an array of music artists, from Sidney Bechet to Frank Zappa, by method of Lester Youthful and Charlie ‘Parrot’ Parker. By opportunity, he and Flanigan fulfilled guitarist Chris Flory along with drummer Johnny Ellis they created a quartet. From the middle-70s Hashim was operating regularly, frequently with Flanigan and Flory. He performed mostly in the brand new York/Rhode Island region so when Flory proceeded to go into Scott Hamilton’s music group (where he was later on became a member of by Flanigan), Hashim became a member of the Widespread Depressive disorder Jazz Orchestra of South Vermont.
