Michael Gregory

The ambitious guitarist formerly referred to as Michael Gregory Jackson later on adopted the shortened moniker of Michael Gregory in order to avoid confusion with pop star Michael Jackson. He documented with a number of the even more ambitious contemporary and experimental jazz players in the past due ’70s and early ’80s, including saxophonist Oliver Lake. As an acoustic and electrical stylist, he was interested not merely in comping behind performers and doing regular single-line solos, however in noises, rhythms, and textures. After that he shifted gears and started performing fusion and R&B.
