Michael Gettel

This Seattle-based composer and music teacher writes contemporary piano-based ensemble works inspired by family, friends, and the wonder from the Pacific Northwest. Though his uptempo items are on the trite part, he’s at his greatest when he creates moving, impressionistic music including acoustic piano and melodic devices like oboe, French horn, and flugelhorn.
