Michael G. Nastos

Michael G. Nastos is most beneficial known for his profession like a radio broadcaster in Southeastern Michigan from the first ’70s up to 2007. His major wall plug was at NPR affiliate marketer WEMU, 89.1 FM, where he was older announcer/producer, evening host for pretty much 30 years, aswell as associate music director and main librarian. Created in Ann Arbor, MI, he was raised, briefly in Ypsilanti’s Depot City, and then within the outskirts of Milan, south of Ann Arbor. He used piano at age group six, drums and percussion at seven, and performed throughout school in a variety of marching and stage rings, and pickup rock and roll and blues groupings. A classically educated multi-percussionist, he performed various traditional and symphonic musics, little chamber ensembles, and finally jazz rings and gamelan orchestra. Turning his interest away from functioning as a specialist musician, he examined journalism and broadcasting, producing that his livelihood. During his composing career he provides released syndicated previews, testimonials, or opinion columns, and proved helpful for 17 years for the Ann Arbor Information, composing on jazz, blues, globe, classical, and various other musics. He was called among the best five Midwest critics by visitors of Arts Midwest publication in 1988 and #1 Jazz Critic in the SEMJA Music Poll in 1990.
