Michael Colvin

Michael Colvin is a tenor using the Canadian Opera Business. His portrayal from the Barber of Seville’s Count number Almaviva drew compliment from critics, leading him to reprise the component for the stage from the Lyric Opera of Kansas Town, where he produced his debut in the U.S. He offers sung tasks in Iolanta, Norma, and Giasone. Previously Colvin caused the Ensemble Studio room. The tenor also performs in concert. He offers performed several visitor solos, including engagements using the Amadeus Choir of Toronto, the Winnipeg Symphony, as well as the Toronto Symphony. Among his recitals can be an appearance on CBC Radio Two. Colvin was also presented in several modern music premieres, included in this The Golden Ass, compiled by Randolph Peters and staged in 1999, and Everlasting Light, compiled by Christos Hatzis and staged in 2000. Colvin was created in Ireland but relocated to Canada as a kid. He was signed up for Toronto’s St. Michael’s Choir College. In Toronto, he gained a qualification in immunology, but he continued to pursue music instead of science by their studies at the opera department of the School of Toronto. Extra instruction originated from the Czech Republic’s International Opera Workshop, Canada’s Banff Center for the Arts, and England’s Britten-Pears College. At the Teen Canadian Mozart Performers Competition in 1997, Colvin positioned among the finalists. Several awards followed, included in this the Chalmers Performing Arts Award that same calendar year, as well as the Canadian Opera Base Award 2 yrs afterwards. His recordings are the Tempest, released by Naxos. He’s wedded to soprano Mary Bella, with whom he occasionally performs in recital.
