A marvelously gifted drummer, Michael Carvin is a prolific contributor towards the modern jazz picture. Whether driving an organization, doing a single, or getting together with the tempo section, Carvin offers demonstrated exceptional technique and delicate accompanying abilities. His dad was a drummer who trained him the fundamentals ahead of Carvin becoming a member of Earl Grant’s big music group within the mid-’60s. Following a tour of responsibility in Vietnam, Carvin used B.B. Ruler. Later arrived stints with Freddie Hubbard, Pharoah Sanders, Lonnie Liston Smith, McCoy Tyner, Jackie McLean, and Clive Stevens’ Atmospheres through the ’70s, plus recordings with Mickey Bass and Charles Davis within the ’80s. Carvin did his personal recordings for Muse and Steeplechase within the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
