Metalwood

The jazz foursome referred to as Metalwood comprises of saxophonist Mike Murley, bassist Chris Tarry, keyboardist/trumpeter Brad Turner, and drummer Ian Froman. The group shaped in 1997, and released a self-titled debut record that same season; an record that was finished only times following the talented people performed jointly for the very first time. Between that development and 2002, the group finished one record a year. In addition they drew plenty of earnest acclaim from both jazz reviewers and enthusiasts. The debut record from Metalwood gained the music group a Juno Award for Greatest Contemporary Jazz Record in 1998. The sophomore record, Metalwood 2, brought another Juno for the music group. The annals of Metalwood actually were only available in 1996, when Murley and Turner fulfilled while teaching in a jazz camp that summertime. Tarry and Froman fulfilled in Boston, and the pair went into Murley while executing in a jazz celebration. Though people lived in distinct countries, things dropped into place nearly as if destiny decided it so. Once the Canadian and American performers teamed up, the music globe got Metalwood. The time the group shaped, the people spent time rehearsing together and proceeded to go and performed that evening. By the very next day, Metalwood moved into a recording studio room to begin focus on a self-titled debut record. That first providing, finished in just a matter of times, earned the jazz group its 1st Juno honor. In 1999, the music group documented its third recording, Metalwood Live. It had been followed another 12 months by Metalwood 3, and in the springtime of 2001 from the Recline, released beneath the Blue Thumb Information label. Some of the songs from these albums are “Pressure,” “New Trousers,” “U.B. the Monster,” “Steeplejack,” “New Congregation,” “Five Minute Margin,” and “Not really Disappointed.”
