Boston singer/songwriter Merrie Amsterburg began her music career because the singer and guitarist for the later-’80s early-’90s music group the Natives, who have been nearly signed by KISS’ Gene Simmons, and recorded monitors with Blondie manufacturer Richard Gottehrer. However, both projects had been unsuccessful — Simmons’ label wasn’t prepared in time to own music group an excellent distribution deal, as well as the Gottehrer periods were hardly ever released; immediately after, the music group split up. Amsterburg’s disappointed career being a rock and roll & roller led her to a far more fulfilling one being a vocalist/songwriter; she extended her style to add folk, jazz, and globe music elements, in addition to even more personal lyrics. Her 1996 single debut Time of year of Rain arrived on Q-Division information, the namesake label from the studio room where it had been documented, and where additional Boston performers like Aimee Mann and Jennifer Trynin possess laid songs. 1999 noticed the album’s re-release on Zoe/Rounder Information, along with the release of the EP, An environment of Our Own Producing.
