Mephiskapheles

Leading the charge of the brand new York City ska revival scene, Mephiskapheles was shaped within the East Village in 1990 by lead vocalist the Grand Invidious, guitarist Brendog and keyboardist Brian Martin. Inside the course of the next a few months, the group’s traditional lineup — also comprising bassist Michael Bitz, trumpeter Osho Endo, alto saxophonist Alexander McCabe, and trombonist Greg Robinson — was tightly set up, and on the next couple of years Mephiskapheles toured relentlessly along the East Coastline, building a great cult pursuing. In 1994 they became a member of with producer Costs Laswell to record their debut LP God Bless Satan, originally released independently Move the Virgin label. By 1996, with brand-new drummer Wayne Dunton up to speed, Mephiskapheles toured the U.S. starting for the Buzzcocks; their second album, Optimum Perversion, premiered a year afterwards, implemented in 1999 by Might-Ay White-Ay.
