Mendeed

The associates of Glasgow, Scotland’s Mendeed — vocalist David Proctor, lead guitarist Steven Nixon, rhythm guitarist Steph Gildea, bassist/vocalist Chris Lavery, and drummer Kevin Matthews — met as teenagers while attending regional Dumbarton Academy, and evolved through some different rock styles until settling upon a frenzied combination of power metal and deathcore with time for 2002’s Getting rid of Something Beautiful EP. The group eventually toured with increasing Brit power metallers Dragonforce, amongst others, and, following discharge of 2003’s ONCE WE Rise and 2004’s From Shadows Emerged Darkness EPs, they transitioned from first indie label Increasing Records towards the competent Nuclear Blast for full-length follow-ups This Battle CAN LAST Forever (2006) as well as the Deceased Live by Like (2007).
