Memo Acevedo

Latin percussionist and drummer Memo Acevedo is really a local of Santa Fe de Bogota, Colombia. He’s highly regarded in neuro-scientific Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms and it has performed with several diverse music artists including Stephen Stills, Tom Scott, Bruce Cockburn, Tag Murphy as well as for the Broadway musical The Lion Ruler. In 1993, Acevedo released his initial album being a head, the self-produced and organized Building Bridges in the Concord label offering guest performances by flutist Dave Valentin, pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Tito Puente. He in addition has trained percussion and drums on the Drummers Collective plan in NY, spent time using Irakere and it has been among the musical directors for the Afrocubanismo event.
