Chicago native Melissa Lefton relishes the love for pure ’80s pop sensibilities. Elevated on a reliable dosage of Depeche Setting, the Treatment, and Irene Cara’s Flashdance, Lefton was only a enthusiast of music while developing up so when it was period for university, she ventured east to review communications at NY University. Type of disillusioned with this new lease of life of bridging adolescence with forthcoming adulthood, Lefton considered music while blending in her research, soon noticing a typical career may not always be her contacting. She became a member of the band Item after responding to an advertisement in the paper and honed her vocalist/songwriting abilities. The stint was temporary, nevertheless Lefton inked a cope with Jive (Britney Spears, ‘N Sync) and ready to twist the label’s pop typicality.
