Melissa Collard

Melissa Collard is a superb golf swing singer and guitarist located in North California. She was raised in Southern California and was released to early jazz through her grandmother, who performed ragtime and stride piano. She was also thinking about newer jazz and rock and roll as an adolescent, performing like a back-up vocalist with her brothers’ rock-band. Collard started playing acoustic guitar at 12, extending from Django Reinhardt and Eddie Lang to Pat Metheny and Jimi Hendrix. She 1st sang regularly in a lounge around the Redondo Seaside Pier when she was 14. Collard graduated from senior high school and analyzed British at Berkeley, where she fulfilled the neighborhood traditional jazz music artists. She performed early jazz with such music artists as Dick Oxtot, Bob Mielke, Bob Helm, Ray Skjelbred, Leon Oakley, Jim Goodwin, and Bob Schulz. She also caused a quartet which was influenced by Django Reinhardt’s music. After shifting to Sacramento in the past due ’80s, Collard sang newer requirements with piano trios in resorts, caused the ghost rings of Tommy Dorsey and Nelson Riddle, sang European swing using the Shed Weekend big music group, and journeyed to Europe using the Cosumnes River University Jazz Music group. In 2004 she produced her documenting debut on TRADITIONAL Love, a Compact disc also offering trombonist Dan Barrett and banjoist/guitarist Eddie Erickson.
