Melanie Martinez

Long Island-native Melanie Martinez makes arty, alternate singer/songwriter pop that straddles the line between folk, electronica and hip-hop. Given birth to in Baldwin, NY, Martinez was raised hearing her father’s Beatles information and hip-hop music. In 2012, while still in senior high school, she received an area on NBC’s The Tone of voice with her overall performance of Britney Spears’ “Toxic.” Selecting to become listed on judge Adam Levine’s group, she eventually managed to get to week five before obtaining eliminated via target audience vote. Martinez started working on single materials and in 2014 released the Kinetics- and One Love-produced EP Dollhouse on Atlantic Information. In 2015 she came back with her debut full-length recording, Cry Baby, which presented the singles “Pity Party” and “Sippy Glass.” The recording reached quantity six around the Billboard 200 and strike number 1 on Billboard’s Best Alternative Albums graph.
