Megafortress

Brooklyn solo designer Expenses Gillam began executing while Megafortress sometime in the first 2010s, sculpting a strange internet of avant-garde structure, synthesizer experimentation, and unconventional vocal layering. His tunes incorporated consumer electronics, textural vocals, as well as the free-form, floating jazz tools in airy, occasionally menacing tunes. A self-titled EP surfaced in 2012 on the program label and was accompanied by a more stripped-down, almost religious-feeling debut LP by means of 2014’s Believer. In live shows, Gillam was sometimes followed by three improvisers: keyboardist Kevin Uehlinger, bassist Dan Bates, and drummer Michael Barron.
