Meduza

A power steel ensemble with neo-classical flourishes, Meduza were founded in 2000 by guitarist Stefan Berg, who proceeded to surround himself with fellow Swedes Jan Larsson (keyboards), Jonas Edström (bass), and Ola Gronlund (drums), aswell as Greek-born vocalist Apollo Papathanasio (of symphonic steel music group Majestic). Two albums implemented, with 2002’s Today and Forever owing an excellent stylistic debts to Yngwie Malmsteen’s Increasing Power, while 2004’s Upon the Globe attemptedto branch out into even more deliberate tempos and traditional steel songwriting. But neither stood right out of the encircling Scando-metal din, and in a short time Papathanasio have been lured towards the greener pastures (in the individually rewarding and financial feeling) of Firewind. In the mean time, Stefan Berg and his cohorts continuing to audition fresh prospective singers having a look at of relaunching their profession by resuming their favored neo-classical metal design.
